Mediaclassified.ca collects information from several different areas of our website:
Memberships for mediaclassified.ca require personal information to allow you to place a vehicle for sale, create automated alert searches, and to create classified ads.

PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED FOR THE MEMBERSHIPS ARE:
first and last name, e-mail address (which is also the username) and password uniquely identified by the user, the location of the nearest city of residence, and their VALID home phone number.
On registration, you can specify the specific information to be displayed on listed vehicles. At least one piece of contact information must be provided to allow potential buyers to contact you as the seller, however, the specific means of contact is at your discretion.
Sending in Feedback: When you send in feedback to mediaclassified.ca, you must enter your e-mail address for us to follow up with you on your feedback, however, no personally identifiable information is required to send in your feedback.

HOW IS THE INFORMATION USED?
Mediaclassified.ca's primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide site users the information required to contact you regarding your advertisements on the mediaclassified.ca web site. Demographic information is collected for the purpose of preparing statistical reports to reveal who our users are. This information may be shared with mediaclassified.ca staff and business partners on a summary basis.

IS THE INFORMATION SHARED?
Your advertisements, and therefore your contact information (as specified by you on registration), may be sent to other advertising websites that MegaWheels.com has specific agreements with. Mediaclassified.ca will not share your contact information with any company that does not abide by the policies set forth in this document.
When saving an alert with the option to contact the dealership, your contact information will be send to the dealership which has a matching vehicle. Mediaclassified.ca banner advertisers or web sites that have links on our site may collect personally identifiable information about you. This privacy statement does not cover the information practices of those web sites. Mediaclassified.ca internet advertisements may also be used in mediaclassified.ca-related print publications, at the discretion of mediaclassified.ca

WHAT ARE COOKIES FOR?
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. All areas of Mediaclassified.ca where you are prompted to log-in (eg. memberships, wanted ads, vehicle ads, etc.) require that you accept cookies. These cookies are used only to keep track of your account information as you move through our system. This ensures that your advertisements are attached to the correct account. Throughout the site, when vehicles are listed, you can choose to save the vehicle within the clipboard, and this functionality is requires cookies whether or not you have logged in as a registered user. Cookies are also used to keep track of what listings you wish to enter into mediaclassified.ca so that your listings get into the classifieds properly after returning from the Credit Card screen.

CAN I OPT OUT?
No personal information is collected from you when you use the mediaclassified.ca site to perform basic searches for vehicles — either through the mediaclassified.ca search engine, or through the dealer inventory pages. Every page that collects personal information about you is optional. If you do not wish to share your personal information with us, you may decline the use of our services that request such information. You may choose not to accept the cookies required by certain portions of the mediaclassified.ca site. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies, you will be unable to use the portions of the mediaclassified.ca site that rely on cookies to function properly (mainly membership functions and the clipboard).

WHAT IS DONE TO PROTECT MY INFORMATION?
Your account is password protected so that only you have access to enter and update your information. You may edit your account and listing information by using your log-in e-mail address and password under the login link. We recommend that you not share your password with anyone. Mediaclassified.ca may ask for your password to make certain account changes on your behalf. This is strictly to confirm that you are the correct holder of the account.

Mediaclassified.ca recognizes the need to allow our users to keep their personal information private. Our members are given the ability to have their e-mail and phone number repressed from public display. Any information requests, from users of mediaclassified.ca, will be sent to members by an automated process on our system.

If you forget your password, you can indicate such by entering your e-mail address in the login page, and selecting the "I have forgotten my password" link. This will send an e-mail to your e-mail address with your password.
